Neighborhood Voice Alliance partners with community organizations, including Charlestown Voice, a volunteer group of concerned Charlestown residents whose mission is to protect the community by ensuring that development in Charlestown works for the people of Charlestown. All current efforts are supporting our neighbors who oppose the proposed Independence, formerly known as the Helm on Third development, which includes 48 units of permanent supportive housing with no substance sobriety requirements.
Neighborhood Voice Alliance works closely with other community groups to support their specific community concerns. To find out more detailed information about specific projects of interest, please go directly to those community pages. For information on the current focus - community concerns regarding the Independence, also known as The Helm on Third, please see research, timeline, how to get involved and more at www.charlestownvoice.com. Now that the PNF has been filed with the BPDA, your voice is more important than ever - please submit your opposition to the BPDA prior to Oct 30 and reach out to your government representatives to ensure they support and amplify neighborhood opposition to this project.
Neighborhood Voice Alliance welcomes proposals for new volunteer projects and encourages volunteers to take initiative in creating their own opportunities. Please reach out to an officer or board member with your ideas. Currently, all efforts and monies are earmarked for opposition to the Independence, formerly known as the Helm on Third.
