Currently the NVA is supporting neighborhood opposition to the Independence, formerly known as The Helm on Third, a proposal to convert the YMCA's Constitution Inn to housing, with 50% of units dedicated to permanent supportive housing (PSH) for the chronically homeless. PSH is NOT affordable / workforce housing. PSH is known as "housing first" and does not require substance treatment or sobriety for tenants battling addiction.
